Hubby has been away for a week now. Sekyah has been staying with me all this while during his absence. I will be flying off to Singapore on Monday via 2pm flight and will be back in KL on the 24th Apr via the first flight. The plan was to meet hubby at the airport and go home together.
Yesterday, I was at Dr Cafe when hubby called to inform me about the volcanic eruption in Iceland. He told me that all flights in and out of Europe airports had to be canceled due to the volcanic eruption. The airspace is not safe for airplanes to travel. His colleagues who were supposed to fly into Oran had to cancel their flight plans due to this unexpected event. So, hubby and 2 other colleagues are stranded in Oran now and they have to carry on with the event on their own.
It has been one misfortune after another since Day 1 for him. Poor guy! When he arrived at KLIA to depart for Paris, he was told that the flight was overbooked and he had to travel to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Paris before changing airport to catch the flight to Oran. When he reached Amsterdam, he was told that his name was not on the list and he had to beg them to let him on. When he reached Oran, he was told that one of the boxes containing the office supplies was missing and he needed to put up a report for it. When he reached Oran, the driver who was supposed to fetch them did not turn up. When he did, he does not know how to speak English. Food is expensive over there and there is no coffee making facilities in the hotel room. No kettle means no maggi mee (and he brought 4 packets of maggi mee!!... hehehehehe...) Everything has to be ordered from room service and a plate of rice with bland tasting dishes can cost up to RM80.
He told me he lost a lot of weight and I believe him. I remembered when he came back from Buenos Aires last year, I was surprised to see a thinner him. I just hope and pray that the air will be clear by then and his flight back will be on schedule without any hiccups. I miss him so so so muchhhh!!!!
